Though nepotism made her a star, Spelling's determination and self-deprecating wit endeared her to audiences on 10 seasons of 90210. After her father's death in 2006, she weathered a well-publicized rift with her mother, Candy, but the birth of Spelling's son, Liam Aaron, with second husband Dean McDermott brought the estranged mother and daughter closer together.
