Khloe Kardashian reportedly filed for divorce from her husband of four years, Lamar Odom, on Friday. |
Kardashian, 29, cited “irreconcilable differences” in her paperwork filed by divorce lawyer to the stars Laura Wasser, celebrity website TMZ.com was first to report.
The couple signed an iron-clad prenup heading into their four-year marriage, so the split is expected to be cut and dried, TMZ said. Odom, 34, is said to be worth up to $100 million and waived any claims to his wife’s fortune, estimated at around $18 million, an unidentified sourcetold RadarOnline.com.
Kardashian is expected to stay in the couple’s $4 million Tarzana, Calif., mansion, and get up to $500,000 for each year of marriage, the source told Radar.
The E! reality show couple have not been able to salvage their marriage after a year marked by news of Odom’s alleged drug addiction and reports of a rift between them. |
Since the summer, multiple women have stepped forward claiming they've had extramarital affairs with the basketball star. Kardashian posted ominous, often telling photos and sayings to her Instagram and Twitter pages, but refrained from directly commenting on her relatinship status.
Odom also attempted to keep the focus on his basketball career - despite an August DUI arrest that led him to take a probation-only plea deal on Monday. He used Twitter to defend the Kardashian clan against criticism by his father Joe Odom but then chose to spend Thanksgiving with his dad and not Khloe.
He said in a September Twitter rant that his heroin addict dad was wrong to blame the Kardashians for his troubles, and that the senior Odom’s “demons” may be the only thing passed from father to son.
Kardashian stopped wearing her wedding ring, TMZ reports, after a video of the basketball star surfaced online - in which he appears to brag about cheating on his famous wife. |
"Khloé has been very, very hurt by everything," an unidentified source told E.
"There is a lot about Lamar that she is just learning and if they have any chance of making this work, there is a lot they need to come to terms with."
